Understanding creep mechanisms of a Cu-Cr-Nb alloy by testing under constant structure conditions

چکیده
Abstract Stress reduction creep tests conducted on a Cu-Cr-Nb alloy (GRCop-84) at 923 K have confirmed local dislocation climb to be the rate-controlling deformation mechanism. The activation energy of was measured consistent with that self-diffusion in Cu matrix. An internal back stress approximately -9 MPa identified act dislocations, which is believed sum for dislocation-particle interaction and forward dislocation-dislocation interaction. This stress, however, does not lead true threshold framework thermally activated motion.

A Review of Creep Deformation and Rupture Mechanisms of Cr-Mo Alloy for the Development of Creep Damage Constitutive Equations under Lower Stress
This paper presents a review of creep deformation and rupture mechanisms of low Cr-Mo alloy for the development of its creep damage constitutive equations under lower stress. The most popular Kachanov-Robatnov-Hayhurst (KRH) formulation was not necessarily developed and calibrated for low stress and cannot depict the creep strain accurately under multi-axial state of stress due to the three-dim...

متن کاملProblems of Structural Optimization Under Creep Conditions
Optimal structural design under creep conditions, initiated over 20 years ago, brings a fairly larg~ variety of problems, interesting both from theoretical and engineering point of view. Existence of the time factor leads to optimization for a prescribed lifetime and the number of independent variables in governing equations increases by one. Practical importance is connected with design of met...
متن کاملReview of creep cavitation and rupture of low Cr alloy and its weldment
This paper presents a review of creep cavitation and rupture of low Cr alloy and its weldment, particular in the heat-affected zone (HAZ). Creep damage is one of the serious problems for the high temperature industry. One of the computational approaches is continuum damage mechanics which has been developed and applied complementary to the experimental approach and assists in the safe operation...
